Hurd 0.9, Mach 1.8 and MIG 1.8 were released in 2016¹. 2019 saw the release of Debian GNU/Hurd 2019². There are regular releases and the system runs in VM and on bare metal³. You can even run it on GNU Guix via the hurd-service.⁴
That’s the state of the Hurd in January 2021: It works today, and it was never easier to try it than now.

But thanks to massive shared action earlier this year, the European parliament can still prevent the problems. For each of the articles there are proposals which fix them.
